Ulyanovsk to host the International Young Writers Forum: open call 2019
In September 2019, for the second time, Ulyanovsk will host the famous Young Writers Forum. 150 authors from Russia, CIS states and elsewhere will assemble in Ulyanovsk. The Socio-Economic and Intellectual Programs Foundation, which is the organizer of the Forum, announced the open call for authors up to 35, writing in Russian.
The qualified writers will be able to take part in workshops together with the famous Russian literary magazines editors. Some of the authors will be awarded with the scholarships based on the Forum’s results. Furthermore, best texts will be chosen for the publication in literary magazines.
To enter the Forum, authors have to submit their texts by July 1, 2019: prose, poetry, plays, literary critical work or children’s books. More details
In previous years authors from Ulyanovsk entered the Forum and won the scholarships (Vyatcheslav Savin, Gala Uzryutova, Mariya Zavadskaya, Sasha Kovalchik). In 2018 the Forum hosted 139 participants from 52 regions of Russia, 12 CIS and foreign countries. The Forum was supported by the Ulyanovsk region government, the Presidential Grant Fund, Federal Agency on Press and Mass Communications, Rossotrudnichestvo Russian Cultural Agency. Among the guests of the Forum 2018: Leonid Youzefovitch and Mikhail Veller, the writers, Aleksander Livergant, the writer and translator, Nataliya Ivanova, the literary critic, Mariya Vatutina and Maksim Zamshev, the poets.
