Filmstrip festival will be held in Ulyanovsk

Filmstrip festival "Plyonka" (Tape) will be opened on June 29. It will take place for the second time in the city under the "Ulyanovsk - UNESCO City of Literature" program.

During four days on the different spaces of the festival will be shown more than a hundred of classical and rare tapes of the "Diafilm "Soviet studio (State Cinema Committee) and the "Georgia -film" film studio. Each show consists of the films accompanied by the reading of actors and music.

For the record: Filmstrips  - are such a films on tapes made of slides with titles that were popular till the end of the 20th century.
The opening of the festival will be on June 29 at 7.30pm in the yard of the "Simbirsk in XIX to the beginning of XX century" museum (90, Lenin street). This evening everyone is invited to have a look at the Russian folk tales made by the "Diafilm" studio in different decades of the 20th century.

"By having this festival we would like to remind all of the important family tradition of the last century: to read fairy tales to your children and get together. The festival calls on all to surround your kids with care, even if they are over 30 years old," - Pasha Andreev, one of the organizers of the festival tells.

The organizer of the festival is the "Ulyanovsk - UNESCO City of Literature" program office,  with the support of the Centralized library system, the “The V.I. Lenin's motherland" museum preserve, the creative space "Kvartal", Department for Culture, City Administration of Ulyanovsk, the Youth theatre.

The national Russian folk tales accompanied by the reading of actors and music. "Masha and the bear", "Little fox with a rolling pin", "Dobrynya and the snake", "Shepherd's pipe", " Fire-bird " will be shown with many others.


June 30 (Friday), 7pm-8pm

The creative space "Kvartal" (78, Lenin street)

Tales from around the world read by actors from the Youth theatre. Arabic, Syrian,Hungarian, Vietnamese, Slavic, Italian, Georgian , Tajik and Lettish fairy tales will be shown during this evening.


July 1 (Saturday), 12pm -1pm

A.S. Pushkin library №24 (33/2, Karl Marks street)

Children's show read by actors. " Tom Thumb ", "The Princess and the Pea", "the Thumbelina", "Toys",  "Mowgli"  will be shown with many others.

 

July 1 (Saturday), 7pm-8pm

"House of freedom" space (6, Radischeva street, 2d floor)

 Musical show. Filmstrips will be shown to electronic music by Neill Scream.

 

July 2 (Sunday), 10 am- 5 pm

S.T. Aksakov Ulyanovsk regional library for children and youth (48, Minaeva street)

Individual shows. During this day anyone can come to the library and choose a filmstrip from the collection of more than 2000 films and roll, read for friends, grandchildren, relatives and other guests of the festival by themselves.
